faribanks informationLog Cabin Visitor Information Center 550-First Avenue; 1-800-327-5774, is a good place to begin your sightseeing in the Fairbanks area. The friendly staff will gladly answer any questions you may have. The cabin is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week in the summer and 10am to 5pm Mon.-Fri. in the winter The building itself is an attraction. Its sod roof, massive stone fireplace chimney, varnish-bright logs, and well-cared-for lawn and flowers make an interesting photo subject. If you desire a good background for photos of loved-ones, try the nearby milepost sign that welcomes visitors to Fairbanks or the statue  in Golden Heart Park behind the cabin.

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center, 3rd and Cushman, provides the Alaskan visitor with information on the variety of public lands in Alaska, including state and federal parks, forests and refuges.
