2017 Hà Kus Teyea Celebration

The 2017 Hà Kus Teyea Celebration will take place from Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 30 in at the Teslin Tlingit Council Heritage Centre, with four full days of programming. Leading the festivities will be a traditional lake crossing and arrival in a Tlingit canoe, followed by a greeting ceremony and the lighting of the Celebration Fire. A welcoming and grand entrance parade with pageantry, flags and Tlingit regalia will follow in the afternoon. Scheduled daily are: public art workshops, cultural demonstrations, storytelling, traditional canoe events, First Nation performers,  artist’s market,  kids’ zone, stick gambling and a variety of food vendors. Each evening will begin with a public feast followed by cultural performances. Come share in the Tlingit Culture!
