mile 50.1/km 80.6 Musk Ox Farm and Gift Shop. The world's only domestic musk ox farm. The animals are combed for the precious Qiviut, which is then handknit by Eskimos in isolated villages, aiding the Arctic economy. During the farm tours in the summer you can see the newborn calves and mom's romping in beautiful pastures with Pioneer Peak as a backdrop. See "Things To Do" in Palmer Alaska .

mile 49.5/km 79.6 Junction. Willow Creek-Fish Hook loop road to Wasilla or Willow via scenic Hatcher Pass-inquire locally about road conditions. Road is open June through September not recommended for trailers or large  motorhomes.

mile 42.1/km 67.7 Arctic Avenue, east is exit for Palmer, it is also the Old Glenn Highway, alternate route to Anchorage.

mile 40.2/km 64.7 Main entrance to Alaska State Fairgrounds.

mile 36.4/km 58.6 Kepler Bradley State Recreation Area is a day use area only. Facilities include picnic sites, fishing docks, great fishing.

mile 36.3/km 58.4  Fox Run RV Campground. Fox Run has spectacular views of the Chugach Range and Matanuska Lake. Full hookups available as well as tenting areas. Laundry, restrooms, showers, Email access, boat rentals, fishing tackle for sale or rent, children's play area. Close to shopping, restaurants and visitor information center. There are 12 lakes within easy walking distance for fishing, hiking, swimming, or boating. Daily, weekly and monthly rates available. Reservations in AK 1-877-745-6120, 907-745-6120.

mile 35.5/km 57.1 Junction of the Parks Highway and Glenn Highway. From here, the Parks Highway goes north toward Denali National Park and Fairbanks (see index) and the Glenn Highway continues south to Anchorage and is divided highway from the junction to Anchorage.

mile 35.5/km 57.1 Mat-Su Visitor Center operated by MSCVB, is open from mid-May through mid-September. Its hours of  operation are 8:30am to 6:30pm. the Center is at Mile 35.5 Parks Highway,  just up the Parks Highway from its intersection with the Glenn Highway. Available at the Center is information on activities, events, lodging services, tours, and more. A gift shop is located in the Center as well. mile 29.9/km 48.1 In the next mile 3 bridges cross the Knik River.

mile 26.5/km 42.6 Overpass with exits on both sides of highway to  Eklutna Falls and Thunderbird Falls.

Eklutna Campground has 50 camp sites, picnic sites and shelters, toilets, water, and hiking trails. Eklutna Lake is the largest lake in Chugach State Park. Good fishing for Dolly Varden and rainbow. Campground is in mountain setting with cottonwood and spruce trees, fresh water streams, springs, and glacial river. Twin falls near parking area at road's end (13 miles). Short hike to Eklutna glacier at far end of canyon--this is a dangerous area. Do not climb on the glacier without proper equipment, knowledge, and guides. Side road (opposite Eklutna Recreation road) leads to old Eklutna Village  with Russian Orthodox Church and Indian Cemetery.

mile 25.6/km 41.2 Eklutna River.

mile 25.2/km 40.6 Thunderbird Falls exit for northbound traffic only and access to Eklutna Road. Thunderbird Falls is about 1 mile from the highway. The trail to the Falls goes through private property down to a picnic area.

mile 24.5/km 39.4 Southbound exit for Mirror Lake picnic wayside.

mile 23.6/km 38 Mirror Lake. Northbound exit Picnics tables, swimming,  boating, and boat launch.

mile 23/km 37 North Peters Creek exits both sides of highway.

mile 21.6/km 34.8 South Peter's Creek exits both sides of highway, services.

mile 21.3/km 34.3 Bridge over Peter's Creek.

mile 20.7/km 33.3 North Birchwood Loop Road exits both sides of highway. East to Chugiak follow the Old Glenn Highway to Eagle River.

mile 17.5/km 28.2 South Birchwood Loop Road. Exit to Chugiak-Eagle  River and Fire Lake Fish Hatchery. Visitors welcome.

mile 16.3/km 26.2 Fire Lake.

mile 15.3/km 24.6 Old Glenn Highway.

mile 13.6/km 21.9 Exit for the twin communities of Chugiak-Eagle River.

mile 13/km 20.9 Bridge over Eagle River.

mile 12/km 19.3 Hiland Road exit to Eagle River Campground. Access via short side road. 50 camp sites, 12 picnic sites and shelters, toilets, water and fishing. River is of glacial origin, and the silty water is unsafe for drinking. This camping area is usually crowded. There is a camping limit of 4 days and a $15 daily fee.

mile 7/km 11.3 Southbound exit to Ft. Richardson and Arctic Valley  Road.

mile 6.5/km 10.5 Northbound exit to Ft. Richardson and Arctic Valley  Road.

mile 4.3/km 6.9 Centennial Camper Park.

mile 4/km 6.4 Muldoon Road. City bypass route to Seward-Anchorage Highway and the Anchorage International Airport.

mile 2/km 3.2 Boniface Parkway. Russian Jack Springs Campground is south of the highway off Boniface Parkway. Not suitable for large units. Turn north for Elmendorf AFB.
