The Wasilla Museum & Visitor Center

Come discover historic Wasilla, where you can walk through time in historic homes and buildings while learning about local culture, early settlement, and regional history. The Wasilla Museum and Visitor Center showcases the area’s rich heritage through exciting traveling exhibits and permanent collections highlighting gold mining, Alaska wildlife, homesteading, and dog mushing. The Visitor Center provides maps, guidance, and details on points of interest for local stops and shops in and around Wasilla. Tour the 1931 Community Building, the 1917 Herning Mercantile, and the 1917 School House—all listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
