Jakes Corner, Yukon to Atlin, B.C.

This 92 km/57 mile road turns south from Yukon Highway 8, 1.6 km/1 mile  from the junction with the Alaska Highway at Jake's Corner, km 1393/mile 866. The road winds around the east shore of Atlin Lake, the largest natural lake in B.C. The road ends at Atlin, an active gold mining centre. Watch for construction zones as this road is being upgraded.

km 1.8/mile 1.1 Junction Atlin Road and Taggish Road. Turn South to  Atlin.

km 2.2/mile 1.4 Road crosses Fish Creek.

km 2.9/mile 1.8 Side road leads to Little Atlin Lake.

km 3.8/mile 2.4 Parking with boat launch on little Atlin Lake.

km 6.4/mile 4 Narrow, unmaintained winding road leads up mountain  to east.

km 7.8/mile 4.8 Goats disappeared from the area after completion of  Atlin road in 1949. They were reintroduced in 1983 from Kluane National Park by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Look for goats on side of mountain

km 12/mile 7.5 Pride of the Yukon Resort.

km 12.6/mile 7.8 Parking at Haunka Creek.

km 16.3/mile 10.1 Rough side road to east.

km 21.8/mile 13.5 Parking to east.

km 24.5/mile 15.2 Snafu Creek crossing.

km 26.4/mile 16.4 Side road to Snafu Lake and Yukon government campground on east. 4 camp sites, pit toilets, water, boat launch. Fee area. Grayling fishing.

km 29.3/mile 18.2 Parking at Tarfu Creek.

km 30/mile 18.6 Abandoned cabin and parking.

km 33/mile 20.5 Side road to Tarfu Lake on east (approximately 4 km/2.5 miles) - steep grade near campground. Yukon government camp, 4 camp sites,  pit toilets, water. Boat launch, fishing good for Pike, Grayling, and Lake Trout. Fee area. There is a family of beaverthat live along the north east shore.

km 34/mile 21.1 Side road to Marcella Lake.

km 34.5/mile 21.4 Parking with excellent view of Atlin Lake.

km 40.6/mile 25.2 Large parking area.

km 40.9/mile 25.4 B.C - Yukon Border.

km 42.5/mile 26.4 Survival shelter.

km 43.4/mile 27 Access to Atlin Lake.

km 51.6/mile 32 Picnic area at Hitchcock Creek.

km 57.4/mile 35.7 Basecamp Creek, parking.

km 63.3/mile 39.3 Indian River crossing. Parking at south end.

km 71.4/mile 44.4 Survival shelter on east. Road in this area is slippery  when wet. Watch for horses on road.

km 78.8/mile 49 Burnt Creek crossing.

km 80.2/mile 49.8 Davie Hall Lake, noted bird-watching area.

km 81.8/mile 50.8 Ruffner Mine Road with access to MacDonald Lake.

km 83.6/mile 51.9 Fourth of July Creek parking.

km 87.9/mile 54.6 Como Lake with boat access. Check locally for fishing  information.

km 89.5/mile 55.6 Lakeview Drive.

km 90.5/mile 56.2 Atlin Village limits. A camping area can be found at the north end of town in Tarahne Park (no facilities). RV park on waterfront in town.

km 91.9/mile 57.1 Atlin Road ends at Discovery Road.
